How influencer rates are calculated

The follower baseline

The most common starting point is $10–$25 per 1,000 followers for Instagram, adjusted by platform. LinkedIn commands a premium because its B2B audience is more valuable per click, while TikTok is cheaper due to scale and lower intent.

Why engagement rate matters

A 50K account with 6% ER will outperform a 200K account with 0.8% ER in reach and conversions. High-engagement creators justify 35–65% rate premiums over the follower baseline. Always ask for recent analytics before agreeing a rate.

Niche and content type

Finance and tech audiences convert at 2× the rate of general lifestyle audiences — brands pay accordingly. Content type also shifts rates: a YouTube dedicated video is 2–3× a 60-second integration, while Instagram Stories are roughly half a static post.
