How to Turn What's Trending on X Into Scheduled Posts With Grok (5 Prompts + Autoadify Setup)

Grok reads X as it happens. Connected to Autoadify, it can also write the post, make the image and schedule it to every platform while the moment still matters. Here is the setup, five prompts, and the rules for newsjacking without embarrassing your brand.

Quick Answer

On grok.com, add Autoadify as a custom connector (Connectors → New Connector → Custom → https://mcp.autoadify.com/mcp → sign in). Ask Grok what your audience is talking about on X right now, pick a trend you can add something to, then have it write the post, generate an image and schedule it to X and your other channels through Autoadify. Speed is the point, so keep the approval step short, not skipped.

2 min One-time setup
5 Prompts from trend to scheduled post
4 Credits for one GPT Image 2 image
30 min Lead time to cancel if the moment turns

What you need

  • Grok on grok.com with custom connectors
  • Autoadify Pro or above
  • Your X account (and any others) connected in Autoadify

Trend posts have a short shelf life. By the time an idea goes from a screenshot in Slack to a designed, approved, scheduled post, the conversation has moved on. Grok already sees what's being posted on X; with Autoadify connected, the gap between "this is relevant" and "it's scheduled" becomes one conversation.

1. Connect Autoadify to Grok

  1. On grok.com, open Connectors → New Connector → Custom.
  2. Name it Autoadify and paste https://mcp.autoadify.com/mcp.
  3. Sign in to Autoadify and approve.

If Grok shows the connector as connected but lists no tools, remove it and add it again. More: Autoadify in Grok.

2. Find the moment (prompts 1–2)

Prompt 1. We're [brand], we sell [product] to [audience]. What are people in that audience talking about on X in the last 24 hours? Give me 5 conversations, how big each one is, and whether a brand joining in would look natural or forced.

Prompt 2. For the two most natural ones, what could we genuinely add: a fact, a tip, a product that solves the thing people are complaining about? If we have nothing to add, say so.

For how X ranks posts in the first place, see X automation in 2026. The second prompt is the filter. "We have nothing to add" is a valid answer and saves you from the post everyone screenshots for the wrong reasons.

3. Make the post (prompts 3–4)

Prompt 3. Write the X post for the best one: under 280 characters, our voice, no hashtag stuffing. Then adapt it for Instagram and Threads.

Prompt 4. Make a square image for it with GPT Image 2 (4 credits) showing [scene], and attach it.

Grok calls Autoadify's generate_image; the image lands in your media library ready to attach. GPT Image 2 is a good pick when the image needs readable text; Nano Banana 2 for product scenes. Every model and its cost: AI models.

4. Ship it (prompt 5)

Prompt 5. Schedule it to X and Threads in 30 minutes and Instagram at 6pm. Show me the final text and image before you schedule.

The "show me before" line is your approval step. Thirty minutes of lead time also gives you a window to cancel from the Autoadify calendar if something changes.

Newsjacking rules worth keeping

  • Never tragedy. Tell Grok up front: skip anything involving deaths, disasters, conflict or politics.
  • Add something or skip it. A brand repeating the trend adds nothing.
  • Check the facts. Trends move fast and early posts are often wrong. Ask Grok for its sources and check them before scheduling.
  • Same rules as the app. Autoadify's content policy and each platform's rules still apply to everything Grok schedules.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can Grok post to X for my brand?

Through Autoadify, yes: it schedules to the X account you've connected in Autoadify, along with any other connected platforms.

Do I need an API key?

No. Grok signs in to Autoadify with OAuth when you add the connector.

Can it make a video instead of an image?

Yes. Ask for a short clip; video takes a few minutes and costs credits per second, so ask Grok to quote the cost first.

The Bottom Line

Grok's edge is seeing X as it happens. Autoadify turns that into a scheduled, illustrated, cross-platform post in the same chat. Keep one rule: add something, or skip the trend.
