Quick Answer
Run claude mcp add --transport http autoadify https://mcp.autoadify.com/mcp, then /mcp → Authenticate to sign in. On release day, ask Claude Code to read the changelog, write a post per platform, upload the screenshot from your repo, and schedule or publish it. The announcement goes out from the same session the release did.
What you need
- Claude Code in the terminal, VS Code or JetBrains
- Autoadify Pro or above
- X, LinkedIn and Bluesky (or others) connected in Autoadify
Developers ship more often than they announce. The release goes out at 4pm, the post is "I'll write it tomorrow", and tomorrow the next fix is more interesting. The context you need for a good announcement, the diff, the changelog, the screenshot, is all in the terminal already. So write the post there.
1. Connect (one command)
claude mcp add --transport http autoadify https://mcp.autoadify.com/mcp
Then in Claude Code run /mcp, pick autoadify and choose Authenticate. Sign in to Autoadify in the browser and approve. No key lives in your shell history. Prefer a key for CI? Create one in Autoadify under Settings → API & MCP and pass it as a header instead. More: Autoadify in Claude Code, Anthropic's Claude Code MCP docs, and the REST API for CI.
2. Turn the changelog into posts (prompts 1–3)
Prompt 1. Read CHANGELOG.md for v2.4 and the merged PRs since the last tag. What are the 3 changes a user would actually care about? Ignore refactors.
Prompt 2. Check which channels I have in Autoadify and their limits. Write the announcement: X under 280 characters, a LinkedIn version that explains why we built it, and a Bluesky version under 300 characters.
Prompt 3. No marketing words: no "excited", "game-changing" or "revolutionary". Say what changed and who it helps.
3. Add the screenshot (prompt 4)
Prompt 4. Upload ./docs/launch.png to my Autoadify media library and attach it to all three posts.
This is where a terminal assistant beats a chat app: Claude Code can read a file off your disk and upload it with create_media_upload and complete_media_upload. No screenshot? Ask it to make one with generate_image, or import an image from a URL with import_media.
4. Ship the post (prompts 5–6)
Prompt 5. Publish X and Bluesky now. Schedule LinkedIn for tomorrow 9am, when our audience is at work.
Prompt 6. In 5 minutes, check the X and Bluesky posts went out and give me the live links.
get_post returns each platform's status, the live URL, and the exact error if one failed, written so Claude Code can fix the request rather than just report a 400.
A release-day routine
- Tag the release.
- Prompts 1–4: changelog → posts → screenshot.
- Read the three versions once. This is your only approval step, so actually read them.
- Prompts 5–6: publish, then confirm the links.
Save prompts 1–3 as a custom slash command and release announcements become one line. Per-platform limits are in our character limits and image sizes guide; for Bluesky specifically, how to schedule Bluesky posts.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I run this in CI?
Yes, with an API key instead of signing in: create one in Settings → API & MCP, limit it to the channels CI should post to, and call the REST API or the MCP server with it.
Which platforms can it post to?
Any account connected in Autoadify: X, LinkedIn, Bluesky, Threads, Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, YouTube, Pinterest and Reddit.
What if I want to review before it posts?
Ask for drafts. They wait on the Posts page in Autoadify until someone schedules them, which suits teams where marketing signs off.
The Bottom Line
The best moment to announce a release is right after you ship it, while the context is still on your screen. Connect Autoadify once and the announcement is part of the release, not a task for tomorrow.
