# Facebook Font Generator

> Change the text style on any Facebook post, comment, bio or Page name. Copy and paste — no app, no extension.

## Short answer

Facebook has no font setting, so a Facebook font changer works by swapping your letters for Unicode characters that look styled. Type your text above, copy the style you want, and paste it into a Facebook post, comment, bio or Page name — it renders on desktop and in the mobile app.

## Where this works on Facebook

- **Posts** — 63,206 characters, though only ~480 show before “See more”.
- **Comments & replies** — Renders identically; the most common use after posts.
- **Bio / Intro** — 101 characters on a personal profile.
- **Page & Group names** — Allowed, but Facebook's name review is stricter here.
- **Marketplace listings** — Titles accept styled text; descriptions do too.

Character budget: Facebook bio allows 101 characters.

## Why Facebook has no font button

Facebook's composer is deliberately plain. There is no bold button, no markdown and no rich-text toolbar for ordinary posts — the one exception is the coloured-background post, which changes the backdrop rather than the letterforms.

So every styled Facebook post you have seen was written somewhere else and pasted in. This generator does that step: it converts your text into Unicode characters that already carry the styling, which Facebook then stores and displays as-is.

## Facebook Page names and the name-review rule

Personal profiles and Pages are treated differently. A personal profile name in stylised Unicode will usually be rejected or reverted — Facebook's authentic-name policy checks it, and non-standard characters are exactly what it flags.

Pages and Groups are more permissive, and plenty of Pages run styled names. The risk is discoverability rather than enforcement: search matches characters, so a Page called 𝔽𝕣𝕖𝕤𝕙 𝔹𝕒𝕜𝕖𝕤 will not surface for someone typing “Fresh Bakes”. If people find you through search, keep the name plain.

## What renders reliably on Facebook

Facebook's web app, iOS app and Android app all render the mathematical alphanumeric blocks — bold, italic, cursive, gothic, outline and monospace — without issue. Fullwidth and small-caps are equally safe.

Enclosed alphanumerics (bubbles and squares) render as glyphs on desktop but may pick up emoji styling in the mobile apps, which changes their colour. Combining marks such as strikethrough survive posting but occasionally break line-wrapping in long paragraphs.

## Frequently asked questions

### How do I change the font on a Facebook post?

Write your text in the generator above, copy the style you want, then paste it into the Facebook composer instead of typing. Facebook keeps the characters exactly as pasted.

### Can I change my Facebook name to a fancy font?

On a Page or Group, usually yes. On a personal profile, Facebook's name policy generally rejects non-standard characters, and names that slip through can be reverted later.

### Does this work in Facebook comments and Messenger?

Yes. Both accept pasted Unicode. Messenger also supports its own inline formatting with asterisks and underscores, which is a separate feature.

### Will styled text reduce my post reach?

Facebook does not penalise Unicode directly, but styled text is not matched by search and is read character-by-character by screen readers. For posts you want discovered or shared widely, style a headline and leave the body plain.

### Do I need an app or browser extension?

No. This runs entirely in your browser and outputs plain text you copy to your clipboard.
