# Engagement Rate Calculator

> Calculates engagement rate for Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, Facebook, X and YouTube, and compares the result against per-platform and per-follower-tier benchmarks.

**How engagement rate is calculated.** The standard formula is total engagements divided by followers, times 100. Engagements means likes plus comments plus saves plus shares, depending on what the platform exposes. Some teams divide by reach or impressions instead — that gives a higher number and is not comparable to a follower-based rate, so pick one and stay with it.

**What counts as good.** Rates fall as accounts grow, so a raw number means nothing without a follower tier. Micro accounts routinely beat large ones on the same content. The calculator reports the tier alongside the rate for that reason.

**Per-platform reality.** TikTok rates run far above Instagram's; LinkedIn's run above Facebook's. Comparing a TikTok rate to an Instagram rate is a category error.
